Sailing Away....

My daughters fear: riding her bike without training wheels...

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. {Mark Twain}

No regrets. I really try to live my life without them, but to my dismay, I have some.
The older I get, I am learning that it is not the inability of doing it that holds me back, but the FEAR that rears its ugly head, to once again beat me into believing that what I want to accomplish cant be done and even more so...that it cannot be done..BY ME.
Why is it that fear is so powerful? Why is fear the one thing that can actually paralyze us where we stand? Can you imagine what we could accomplish if fear wasn't a factor?
What exactly are we afraid of? Opinions? Failure? Hatred? Opportunity? Open Doors?

Mine is failure and opinion.
What's yours?

Wonderful post- I hate opinions- but they are needed in order to grow! The older I get- the more i have learned to fear less- life is too short to have too many fears and worry about what others are thinking about me. You have a beautiful "title picture" I love the yellow- my fav. color! God Bless!

Hi! Me again!;) I think if someone can't handle someone's opinion,then they need to work on themselves. I also think you can find beauty in everything! People need to say and do more nice things instead of always worrying about the negative. Being a creator myself is hard at times- I have a hard time with "mean" people. I think people can share their opinions in a "nice" way and still see things differently!! Does this make sense? I have curly hair- but I straighten it a lot- but not as curly as my daughters hair- :) Have a great day!
